https on a Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS

Hi everyone!

I need to configure https on my site, so I've a Certificate. I've read lots of how-tos and I put Listen 443 on my ports.conf and I load ssl putting it to load in the /etc/apache2/mods-enabled directory. I've made a copy of 000-default to 000-default-ssl at sites-enabled directory and sites-available (one is a symboliclink of another). I've put NameVirtualHost *:443 (and also all sort of combinations)
<VirtualHost *:443>.
ServerName mydnsname.com
DocumentRoot mydocroot
SSLEngine On
SSLCertificateFile /etc/ssl/certif/arquivoderesposta.crt
SSLCertificateKeyFile /etc/ssl/certif/chaveprivada.key
SSLCACertificateFile /etc/ssl/certif/CACertificate.crt

But every time I try to open https://mydsnname, it shows Erro 107 (net::ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR) using chrome or ssl_error_rx_record_too_long using mozilla. The certificate is ok!
And I also tried a lot of combinations, but none of my tentatives worked. Could you please help me?

Check the error log file somewhere underneath /var/log/apache2/. That should give an indication of what problem it's encountering.

You can also try using the openssl utility to test SSL connections and perhaps get more information.

Thanks for your reply! But something is completly wrong. I put debun on the error log and when I restart apache, it seems that it has no virtual hosts on the 443 port. When I try to access the page with https, the error log, or the access log do not increase, I think because it is not been acessed. It seems that the virtual host is not available. Could you please help me on that?
Thank you very much...

Regards,

Neme.
