how to publish the certificate revocation list of the CA?

hi. I have a small CA as a school project. the final part is to publish the CRL to the members. i don't know how to do it in firefox? firefox seem to get the CRL from a site? i created a CRL and put is in the apache directory and tried to get it using the domain name http://localhost/crl.crl
I tried this for the pem and the DER format, and firefox produces and error and refused to get? how to make this?
i didn't find this in any where. can you help me?
