how to force pure-ftp to not use ascii

Unless there is a good reason, what is / is there, a line I can add to pure-ftpd.conf to stop it from allowing ascii connections? I'd like it to do everything in binary. Everytime someone tries to upload images, or if they have a skaky connection, the file transfer stops, or doesn't upload correctly.

Thanks,

Hi

The server has the option, it's called "--without-ascii". But I think the putre-ftpd.conf file can vary from distro to distro, so I'm not sure what should be there. On a Debian Etch server I have, it has a directory instead of a configuration file, kind of like how Apache2 does it instead of Apache1's single file.

Edit:
Read a bit more, and it seems like it's a compile option, not a runtime option. So I think you need to compile it yourself. Passing --without-ascii to ./configure should do it I think.
