LIO has PSCSi as a backstore, so it's going to process what it recognizes however according to the maintainers, iBLOCK has support for persistent reservations and asymmetrical logical unit assignment that's lacking in the physical SCSI (PSCSi) LIO implementation. If that's what you'd like to see passed through, I'd suggest you take a look at using iBLOCK.
