Question How do I access another harddrive in ubuntu server?


Hi im back again with another problem, but im going excellent with my server.(Ubuntu Server 9.10)hi all im just wondering if anyone could tell me very soon (because im working on it now) but i installed ubuntu server on another harddrive because the other one lost internet and i need to get some stuff off it to load up my new one. Anyone who can answer my question? Get back to me as soon as possible im 11 years old ok.

If the hard drive is still installed in the same box, then you'll just need to mount the hard drive. Do some reading on the mount command.

To list your devices
$ /sbin/fdisk -l
To mount an unmounted device
$ mount -t <fstype> <device> <mount-directory>

There's no reason to hurry, if you're 11 - you have a lot of time ahead :-)
