Following screen is populated during startup when any key is pressed instead of GRUB screen

You should open a ticket with RedHat.

Your server has (apparently) encountered some sort of boot problem. Since you provide no details about it past "IBM Blade server", there's not a lot we can tell you. What's it booting from? SAN? Local disk? Any hardware faults? If the server won't boot at all, then changing the root password is the least of your problems. Since you're using IBM hardware with RHEL, you're in a well-supported configuration. Contact Red Hat support.

This has nothing to do with the root password; you aren't in Linux at all, you are stuck in the bootloader. The output from yaboot suggests pressing TAB for options. This should bring up a menu from which you can choose your system.

Thanks for your concern,it's booting from SAN and there is no Problem with hardware it boots normal/ loads services perfectly and gives Redhat Linux GUI login screen if no key is pressed after reboot. I can even login another user which is normal user. I have just forgot the root password and want to reset/ recover it. If anyone can provide steps to reset it will be great help.

The usual way to restore a root password is to boot from another system (for example a Linux CD), mount your normal root partition (for example on /mnt) and then go to /mnt/etc/shadow and delete the encrypted root password in that file. Then you can log into your main system as root without a password and use the passwd command to set a new one.

Read the "Question Guidelines" link in my posting signature. Doing basic research should be done before posting. I'd suggest you put "how to reset forgotten root password rhel 6" into Google, and press ENTER, since the VERY FIRST HIT has step-by-step instructions (with pictures!)

And again, since you're using RHEL, you could ALSO contact Red Hat support for help, since you're paying for RHEL (RIGHT??) Why/who changed the root password without you being notified? If you're the admin, such requests should have run through you.

Thanks for you response. Pressing TAB doesn't bring up any menu, it only writes Linux infront if "Boot: Linux" as shown in picture. I want to bring GRUB screen as suggested in many articles on internet but unable to bring GRUB screen to proceed further with password reset options.

Read post #8 again. And as you were asked before, is there some reason you don't use Red Hat support, since you're paying for it (RIGHT???)
