help needed regarding freeradius in centos 5.3 ( urgen)

i am a newbie in the following issues, esp the freeradius configuration, authentications, accounting....
please help me in configuring freeradius server. The detailed urge of me is given in the following:

i 'm working on this as to implement the server in my network after i m well sure of the installation and implementation in my local pc.
i 've CentOS 5.3 in my system. and freeradius installed. And i want to test the freeradius with the use of switch(huawei switch) and my local pc acting both as the server and the client... the switch will be made into two different VLANs, one VLAN connected to my pc, and the other connected to our local LAN.

i want to do the following:

1. install freeradius in my local pc
2. configuration details, the authentications in to be made in the raddb directory files...
3. examples of configuration..

pleas help of me on this topic..

Further i would like to ask, whether the authentication, accounting and authorization can be done with the freeradius alone?????

regards tshering.

Ok.

First, this isn't urgent for anyone but you. Don't flag your posts as urgent. We volunteer our time here to try to help folks, so telling us to hurry, isn't a good thing.
Second, don't post the same question twice.

And you've said what you WANT to do...but you need to tell us what you've DONE. What problems are you having?? There are lots of how-tos on Google (about 148,000 actually), if you key in "centos freeradius howto".

Post your exact problems, and relevant information, and we can help. Saying you want to do it, and expecting us to write out complete step-by-step instructions, is asking a bit much.

Reference the how-tos and the documentation. Read them thoroughly, and follow what they say.

Please spell out your words, and I'm not sure what you expected to hear.

You didn't actually post a question, just a list of things you wanted to do. Google has links to thousands of how-to documents, which will guide you through setting up everything you mentioned. Why should we do your searching for you, or re-write instructions that are already out there?

And as I said: what have you DONE so far? What problems are you having?

Please, you cannot expect other people to "waste" their own time trying to help you, if you are not willing to "waste" some of your own time trying to fix your problem on your own, and THEN asking for help once you reach a part you are having trouble with.
People are not here to provide step-by-step instructions; they are here to offer step-by-step HELP; and HELP implies that the person in need of help, has reached a point that they are having errors, or something is not working properly.

At first you were encouraged by his reply, and now you tell him to stop replying?
He wants you to try to install your software, do your best, and if/when you get stuck, ask for help. If you have no clue at all where to start, as mentioned, there are 1000's of articles and tutorials to be found on the web.

That makes no sense at all. Please take the extra time to review your post before submitting it, to ensure that it is clearly written to your best ability, and clearly explains what you are wanting, what you have done so far, and what the problem is.

Kindest regards,

Sasha

Couldn't have said it better myself, Sasha...thanks.

If you can't "waste your time" by describing your problem, I strongly suggest you hire someone to fix it for you.
