error with webmin authentication

hello all ...,

i have installed webmin and when i tried to enter the webmin by the localhost:10000 and writ down

username: root
password : <<root password>>

it refuse to continue to the webmen and access denied !!!!

am sure that the password is the password for the root

i made that change

Updated password of Webmin user admin

and when i want to use the new password foo it also didnot accept it

Webmin defaults to user: admin and pw: admin. You can change it, but you must start with those.

hmmmm

i donot think soo cuz the default password for webmin is the root password and the username is the root

I have always used root and the root password. You may also need to use https until you turn off encryption in webmin.
One more thing, don't forget to have localhost in the /etc/hosts ...
