Does't work mysql on apache?

Hi!

I have:
CentOS 5.4
Apache 2.2.3
PHP 5.1.6
Mysql distribution 5.0.77

It seems that my mysql is mot connected to my PHP or Apach! There is a line in phpinfo() : "--without-mysql"

And I can't connect to mysql in php. Mysql is OK, it works.

here is my httpd.conf file:

# DefaultLanguage and AddLanguage allows you to specify the language of
# a document. You can then use content negotiation to give a browser a
# file in a language the user can understand.
#
# Specify a default language. This means that all data
# going out without a specific language tag (see below) will
# be marked with this one. You probably do NOT want to set
# this unless you are sure it is correct for all cases.
#
# * It is generally better to not mark a page as
# * being a certain language than marking it with the wrong
# * language!
#
# DefaultLanguage nl
#
# Note 1: The suffix does not have to be the same as the language
# keyword --- those with documents in Polish (whose net-standard
# language code is pl) may wish to use "AddLanguage pl .po" to
# avoid the ambiguity with the common suffix for perl scripts.
#
# Note 2: The example entries below illustrate that in some cases
# the two character 'Language' abbreviation is not identical to
# the two character 'Country' code for its country,
# E.g. 'Danmark/dk' versus 'Danish/da'.
#
# Note 3: In the case of 'ltz' we violate the RFC by using a three char
# specifier. There is 'work in progress' to fix this and get
# the reference data for rfc1766 cleaned up.

### Section 3: Virtual Hosts
#
# VirtualHost: If you want to maintain multiple domains/hostnames on your
# machine you can setup VirtualHost containers for them. Most configurations
# use only name-based virtual hosts so the server doesn't need to worry about
# IP addresses. This is indicated by the asterisks in the directives below.
#
# Please see the documentation at
# <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs-2.0/vhosts/>
# for further details before you try to setup virtual hosts.
#
# You may use the command line option '-S' to verify your virtual host
# configuration.

#
# Use name-based virtual hosting.
#
#NameVirtualHost *:80
#
# NOTE: NameVirtualHost cannot be used without a port specifier
# (e.g. :80) if mod_ssl is being used, due to the nature of the
# SSL protocol.
#

#
# VirtualHost example:
# Almost any Apache directive may go into a VirtualHost container.
# The first VirtualHost section is used for requests without a known
# server name.
#
#<VirtualHost *:80>
# ServerAdmin webmaster@dummy-host.example.com
# DocumentRoot /www/docs/dummy-host.example.com
# ServerName dummy-host.example.com
# ErrorLog logs/dummy-host.example.com-error_log
# CustomLog logs/dummy-host.example.com-access_log common
#</VirtualHost>

Sounds like you haven't the php mysql libs. Check your php installation.

What I mean is that you don't have php-mysql package installed. Your distro splits php in various packages and you miss the specific one.
You can find it here for the 32bit Centos and here for the 64bit, or use yum to install ti from your preferred repo.

Regards

I've downloaded and tired to install php-mysql package but had the following error:

the command:

rpm -ivh php-mysql*.rpm

That's why I told you to use yum, so it could resolve the dependencies.
What is the output of
Code:
rpm -qa|grep php

Run
Code:
php -i|grep mysql
and see what gives.
You should restart apache for the changes in php to take effect.

I was restarted Apache but the problem is the same.

Here is the result of the command php -i|grep mysql:

What exactly is the problem?
Because now you have '--with-mysql=shared,/usr' '--with-mysqli=shared,/usr/bin/mysql_config' ' in your phpinfo.

I see that with command "php -i|grep mysql" there is a record '--with-mysql=shared', but with php command phpinfo() there is "--without-mysql"!

And I still cant connect with PHP to mysql database.

Here is my phpinfo(): http://93.87.244.12/

What could be now the problem?

I dunno what's the problem here, because php -i is the cli version of php and it seems that it supports mysql, while the apache php module (libphp5.so) does not.
Are you sure it's not a browser cache problem or something like that?

I am sure it's not a browser cache problem! I tired it with three different browser with two different internet connections!

If I write a simple mysql connect php script:

PHP Code:
mysql_connect("localhost""user""password");

the browser gives me the following error:

Code:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function mysql_connect() in /var/www/html/index.php on line 6

OK, I think I've found the problem.
You're using a php.ini for php4 , so it looks at the wrong place (extension_dir = /usr/lib/php4) for the available extensions. You should change it accordingly.
