desktop hangs at switch user

hi,

i installed complete gnome rhel6 64bit, it's working perfect, but if i try to use switch from root to another user and again i switch to normal user it hangs at login screen. i can see thin red lines at the top of the screen. just hangs at login screen. if i logout the user instead of switch user i can log in to root with out any problem. issue is only if i use switch user from normal user to root user.

comming to redline i told you above just looks like, the red color lines we see while we start a virtual mechine in kvm. only difference is they will come all over the screen of virtual machine, where as a single line while i use switch user.

Sounds most like your Graphic card driver is "not quite right". THe "switch" is not the same instructions as when you logout... (because the Desktop manager is completely restarted with a logout)
My initial/gut reaction would be to revert the graphic driver back a version.
Is your graphic driver "proprietary"? - is another thought.
