What do yo mean by "defer" them? Defer means to to put off to another time. I suspect you mean something else.

Or did you mean differ ? - That would be a nice Question :
Only in the way that the system uses 64 bit instructions and is because of that nearly double as fast in work on data. But that isn't often. So that the main advantage is in the support of 64 bit applications. Those applications are in fact then often double as fast.

Not just speed but sizes of data structures that allow for geometric increases in how much can be used for many things such as shared memory etc...
