Daily back up from remote server

Hi every one,

We are using a rental server(linux server) to store our working files, but often we are facing the server down problem so our users can,t able to access the working files, so my question is whether we can take a daily backup of datas from my remote server and store them in our local linux server.
so that even in case of remote server down our users can access that backup data from our local server.

so i just want to know whether it is possible through crontab or not, if possible please give me any suggestions or any links to implement that.

Thanks@regards,
Dinesh.

Yes it is possible with crontab. Linux has build-in ftp commands that can be used to download files.

Depending on size this may produce large amounts in traffic. Internet will be in trafic jam as of 2020 anyway.
