Couldn't find device with uuid


Dear All,

I'm getting the below error and unable see the vg3 in /dev/mapper.

Could you please help me on this issue.


[root@ram ~]# vgdisplay vg3

Again, as with your posts in the past, you provide no useful details that would let anyone help you; again, read the "Question Guidelines" link in my posting signature. You don't tell us what version/distro of Linux, if this is a new installation or existing, and if existing, what has changed/happened recently to break things. You also say nothing about your hardware, how those disks are configured/attached, etc.

Short answer: the error is VERY clear...it's telling you flat out that there are devices that can't be found. So are they plugged in? Running?

This reply might not be timely anymore, but it looks like the OP had mutlipathing active or tried various configurations. It seems like possibly new VG were defined and not removed properly before new physical volumes / volume groups or logical volumes were added? Some background as to the history would normally help. The question here is how to remove unavailable GV uuids, I think.
