Check hard disk speed

Hi,

how can I check if disk devices are running at the proper speed (read/write access)?
What are, for example, the correct values for ATA o SCSI device, if I test them with hdparm?

Thankyou

hdparm command can help you in this
For example
root#hdparm -Tt /dev/hda
Give you speed
root# hdparm -i /dev/hda
show you disk properties

Thanks
