Changing password in sasl authentication with ldap backend

Hi,
I am implementing an open source email solution.
(Postfix + Cyrus-Imap + SASL + Openldap)
I am using sasl with ldap backend for SMTP and IMAP authentication and it is working.
#testsaslauthd -u test -p test
0: OK "Success."

I need to know in this implementation how can I change the user passwords without modifying my ldap server directly (ldapmodify) and also how can I allow the users to change their passwords themselves ? Does webmail softwares usually support this feature ?

Thanks

I guess ldappasswd is also out of question here...
Anyway most webmail software allows changing a user's password stored in ldap by the user itself. For example see this plugin for squirrelmail.
