CentOS 7 i386 Installation - Video issue

CentOS 7 - 2003 - i386 - Minimal Install ISO
Laptop - Inspirion 6000 - 32 Bit System
Video Card - ATI Radeon X300

Problem
System video goes off, pressing power button resumes the installation

Note -
Hardware issue ruled out, Knoppix runs fine without any problems whatsoever

What i have tried in boot menu -
text
nomodeset
modprobe.blacklist=radeon
inst.driver=xforcevesa

at some point the video becomes crisp, looks like some video driver is picked up and then problem of video kicks in after 3 mins or so

what exactly can be done to ensure that the installation just displays in bare text
