Are you running X on the console of the server or via something else like an X emulator on a MS Windows workstation such as eXceed?

We saw similar issues some time ago when we were still running an old version of eXceed trying to use the runInstaller on a RHEL6 server. We found that CygwinX worked fine for RHEL6 and that the old version of eXceed worked from RHEL5 but if we used the combination of RHEL6 and the old eXceed it wouldn't run properly. Updating to newer eXceed v14 resolved the issues for us. (We've since gone to v15.)

yes, you are right , i installed Xming on my windows 7 desktop and it works good with the oracle 12c installation process.

but i am still want a good solution to make it work under whatever X version i use.

as my previously post , my desktop is archlinux, and its version of X must be higher than Centos 6 .

any suggestion from you?

There are different window manager systems for Linux. Are you using Gnome? KDE? something else?

Using a different windows manager might help if the one you're using isn't working. I don't use Arch so can't tell you anything about it.

I did find this link that discusses WMs in Arch:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/window_manager
