Apache+php => database front-end

Hello.. I'm developing a small data-waherehouse for my university, and I was looking if it exist a generic database front-end for users...
In particular, something that would let users to extract data while selecting the dimensions, with options like the comma-separator as point/commas and export in excel/odf/CSV...

Any suggestion???
(no phpMyAdmin.. great, but too complex for users)
