Access control multiple websites on Ubuntu Server 12.04

I have a newly installed ubuntu 12.04 LAMP server. A friend of mine wants me to host his website on my server, along with my own website. I already know how to create virtual hosts for multiple domains, but I want to make it to where he can "login" to the server and then have access to ONLY his folder on the server, so that he may make changes to his website. He will not have acces to any other part of the server - only what I specify. How can I set up my server in order to accomplish this? Only thing I can find is how to set up virtual hosts, which I already know. I am wondering about the "access" such as: User "A" only has access to /var/www/usera, and User "B" only has access to /var/www/userb. Any help or point in the right direction appreciated. I am fairly new to Linux servers so I know the basics, but not too advanced

I see a lot of people have viewed this question, but no advice yet

Is it because:
A) it's so simple that people can't believe I am serious in asking for help with it? or
B) no one really knows how this is done?

Anyway, this is really something I would like help with, as I have no idea how it's done. If anyone knows how to do this, I would appreciate any advice, even if it's just to point me to information rather than simply telling me how it's done. I am fine either way

bmarx...

Thanks for the link....I will try this out in next few days.

This may sound stupid, but if the person who needs to login has a Windows computer will this still work?
Do they just need to install a Windows FTP program to access their folder on the Ubuntu server?
