While in FireFox, in Yahoo News pages, my IP changes..? Why?..

While on the Net, in FireFox, in Yahoo News pages, When ever I send a post my IP changes back to my actual IP, while I'm running "Robtex"...

What is Yahoo doing that takes control of my PC in this way..? Is it legal?.. Is it in any way harmful to this PC's security?..

At every FireFox desktop load, "Show-IP" or maybe it's "World-IP", a FireFox addon which supposedly changes the IP.. You can see this if you have the "IP" change warning pop-up" engaged in prefs...

You mean IP of the server. This is normal, and many big websites has multiple IP, for example google. This is made mainly for prevent overloading of server. If many people connect to one machine than it can stuck and nobody else will connect. Also people can connect to nearest/fastest machine in given country. If you want to known which IP are reserved for given address, you can use utility "dig". Try "dig google.com".

That makes sense, but I'm not sure it's what I'm wondering about...
Right now my IP ends in .93.. but when I right-click my IP at the bottom of the FireFox window, and click "refresh", I gets a totally different IP, ending in .183.. and a pop-up that reads: "Your IP address has changed: Your last recorded IP was: Your current IP is: With each refresh my IP changes at the bottom of the screen... I followed one of those changes with whois.. It turned out to be a Korean IP... But, when I enter a blog from which my IP has been banned, because I defended myself from a bully who was insulting and stalking me in the threads, I still get that my IP is banned.. so in reality my IP hasn't been changed... I don't understand this IP has been changed thingy, yet... Does this somehow fit into your IP explanation?..

Compare these IPs from Firefox with these given by system by command: "ifconfig". If you have private IP, then your external IP can change occasionally or continously, anyway this not depends on visited sites, but your internet provider. Or you have a proxy with some anonimizer as kaushalpatel1982 said.

I'm not sure what it is. yet... I'm about to kick-back, and reinstall the OS's on the three towers.. Then I'll run related tests after every new add-on and every new package install, to determine just what it is...
