What's a good rootkit for Ubuntu?

I want to experiment with rootkits on Ubuntu, but I don't know of any that are easy to install and reliable. I know you can really mess up your OS when messing around with the kernel, so a simple binary rootkit that works on Ubuntu 7.10 would be fine for now. Anyone know which one is the best for my situation?

Having our members make rootkit suggestions is not compatible with the LQ Rules. Whether you are gonna use them for educational purposes or not is beside the point, as we don't have any way to know that. I would recommend looking at the documentation for Rootkit Hunter and then do some googling about the rootkits it is designed to detect. That said, this thread is closed.
