WARN: Multiple Samba Vulnerabilities

The Samba project has recently identified several significant vulnerabilities in Samba versions 3.0.0-3.0.25rc3. These vulnerabilities include a remote heap overflow allowing arbitrary code execution and a local privilege elevation attack allowing root access. The Samba project recommends all users upgrade to newly released version 3.0.25.

Depending on your distribution, this may already be corrected. The fixes may have been pulled into an earlier release. For example for Fedora the fixes are already in 3.0.24-5. I'm just pointing out that distributions have a tendency to backport security fixes, so check with your distribution; don't get hung up on the release numbers.
