- Don't root/jailbreak the phone. It provides root level access to potentially untrusted applications
- The malware quickly evolved from a simple trojan to a sophisticated piece of software that was potentially botnet capable
- Don't obtain your apps from untrusted sources
- watch the permissions that an application is asking for. For example, should a game be asking for SMS access?
- Android is playing catchup in the security realm, especially in regards to enterprise security policy
