See what your current value for the $TMOUT environment varible is.
"echo $TMOUT"
Try setting it to something higher:
"TMOUT=3600"
"export TMOUT"

Or set it to zero for no time out.

Question

Isn't setting the environment variable something that any user can do? ie. Each user can set their own timeout?
