SSH Problem /bin/false

Hi all,

I'm currently working on Linux Fedora Core 3 and using Openssh 0.9.7a.
I'm trying to give SFTP access to a user without giving him the right to
make ssh connexion.

To issue that, i have create my user with /bin/false as default shell.
I also checked that /bin/shells contains /bin/false too.

Each time, i try a sftp connexion, the connexion doesn't succeed.

Can anyone help me in solving my problem ?

Regards,

Ultrix

Hey there, as far as I know you need a shell with some capabilities for sftp, however I have found
the following which is a special shell designed to allow only sftp and scp to certain users.

http://www.pizzashack.org/rssh/index.shtml

Hope you find it useful...

Check the logs. What messages from ssh daemon do you get when you try to connect?
