these should help you:
1)never use the "root" account. Only use it to install rpm, and change settings, use a normal account.
2)only install kernels, and rpm's from trusted sources.
3)update your computer
4)programs can not install them self in linux, so virus can not install them self.
5)there are no windows style virus for Unix OS (linux, sgi, mac osx). but there are programs that can delete files off your home, but it can't get anywhere else, and it can't run it self, you have to run it.

when linux gets popular (which it is starting to now) it is not going to get destroyed like windows. don't say stuff unless you know what your talking about

darkhatter, get off the patty wagon. When netware became somewhat popular it had it share of virii and headaches as well. finish high school before you open your mouth.

Can you give some more details? After searching at http://vil.nai.com/, the only things I found that were Netware specific were PWS-Ritter (http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_99607.htm) and GP1 (http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_4222.htm. Not that bad a record really.
