I am trying to turn of all my services but still have 2 left
sunrpc
submission
In slackware 8.1 sunrpc was turned off just by commenting out the portmapper in rc.M but in 9 its not in there....and the submission i don't remember being in 8.1
Sorry if I sound harsh but since you're on Slackware, and slackies always boast to be able to handle everything from the cli, couldn't you just fgrep around in /etc for references to /sbin/rpc.portmap? I mean, could it be THAT hard?
Submission AFAIK is the "receiver" component of the Sendmail MTA.
It was in rc.inet2......i never knew of that command and i just assumed about the submission because it was before i rebooted after i turned off the others.
Buts its best you were harsh because i learned a new command that can save alot if time.
