Unhappy secure file deletion

I HAVE JUST STARTED USING SUSE LINUX AND AM IMPRESSED, HOWEVER i AM AS YET UNABLE TO FIND A SECURE DELETION TOOL LIKE ERASER OR SURE DELETE, THAT i USED ON WINDOWS. Ii REALISE THAT IT COULD BE DONE FROM THE COMMAND LINE, BUT I WOULD LIKE A FRONTEND.
ANY SUGGESTIONS OF ANY SUITABLE SOFTYWARE. I HAVE TRIED ERASER 56 SOURCE,BUT CANNOT GET THIS TO WORK, SO WOULD APPRECIATE A RPM SUGGESTION OR LINK.
THANKS
SHAWN

sanitising partitions

using eraser on windows it is possible to sanitise the free space on a file system without deleting or otherwise changing anything on the harddrive.
is there something like that for linux.

also, what method does wipe use.
