I'm curious if anyone can list of some new security & networking features that are in RH 7.2, that are not in RH 4?
I've tried looking around on google, but can only find a few things, such as:
- Kerberos & LDAP Authentication
- OpenSSH Tools
- OpenSSL
- Firewall Config during installation
This is for a class assignment, and that's why I'm asking. Personally, if it was up to me, I'd go with RH 9.
probably iptables (netfilter) is new in RH 7.2 (2.4+ kernel) since i bet in RH 4.x you had a 2.2 kernel (ipchains) ...
rh 4.x and 7.2 comparison is rather pretty difficult btw since there are a lot of upgraded packages, etc. when comparing you should try to choose not more than 1 major release jump.

Thnx
I wish it was up to me to choose, but, unfortunately it's not
Here's a copy of the question that was given to me
"The IT Department at Merlinos Mills wants to know what new security and network features it will find in Red Hat Linux 7.x that are not in Red Hat Linux 4.0."
I'm not fond of doing other ppl's assignments, especially since it's *them* gotta learn from it.
That aside, I'd rather focus on the "how" not the "what" parts. What are the procedures, tools and sources you came up (or have learned about/or are forced to use) with so far to determine differences? As for the objective, do they want all the gory details per group, or more an executive overview style report?
