ports info


hi all:

what does the port "659/udp" relates to? is it unsecure?

nmap -sU localhost gives me that port running...



also what are these ports?

--
883/udp open unknown
32772/udp open sometimes-rpc8
---

On slackware the /etc/services file lists ports and services.
Don't know about other distros .

It is more than likely an RPC service.

FWIW: GRC doesn't have anything about 659 or 883, but say that 32772 is for something called filenet-pa, whatever that is.

/etc/services shows the network services and their port numbers

/etc/protocols shows the protocols and the protocol numbers
