Old Server Pwd lost

Hi everyone,
I have an old IBM 486 server running Centos 3 or 4. It has been mothballed for 10 years or more. There is data on it we find we need now but no one remembers the credentials to start it up.
It is only capable of booting from a fdd or a hdd and since I have no machine able to make a floppy with a tiny linux (even if I knew where to buy a floppy these days) I find myself snookered.

I do have physical access to the machine however.

Could someone guide me through the boot process to go round the password login.
Much appreciated
Reg

This might help.

http://www.centos.org/docs/4/html/rh...ot-passwd.html

Another option might be take the hard drive out and mount it as a second HDD in another machine. Once the drive is mounted, you should be able to recover the data.
