Iptables/Firewall Configuration

Hi,

I just finished installing iptables and configuring a very basic firewall. I have a standard dial-up connection and would very simply, like to know whether or not the firewall is working correctly. The script containing my firewall rules loads with no errors... I don't have a client box to ping my firewall or attempt to connect to any ports so what's the best way to test my new firewall ? Would appreciate some input....

Tests for major holes like 20,21 138 139, 80, etc.

Try www.grc.com or http://scan.sygate.com they have online scanners to check your firewall.
