iptable storage

hi,

i m using iptables for packet filetering for my project.

currently i n my program i m running command like

"iptables -nvL --line-numbers" to count pkts and bytes.

store it into temp file and read it.

is there any direct way to do this things?

iptables stores data directly or not as like we have ip_fwchains file when we used ipchains.

does any direct c binary to get this data?

thanx
