HowTo limit sftp connection to one per user

Hi group,

I need to limit SFTP users to one per ID. I have modified my /etc/ssh/user_config with this line:
Code:
MaxSessions 1
MaxStartups 1
I start sftp with this command:
Code:
sudo /usr/sbin/sshd -f /etc/ssh/user_config
But that did not work. It still allows me to login more than one time.

What am I missing?? I am running Fedora 13 if that matters.

Thanks for your time.

if you read the manpage carefully, neither of those options are at all relevant to your requirements.

Presuming that these users are remote sftp users only, and don't need any other form of system login as well, set it outside of sftp by editing the hard maxlogins values in /etc/security/limits.conf
