how to auto mount an encrypted partition on boot up in rhel7.3?

Hi, I created a partition during OS installation and encrypted the /opt. now it asks me for a password during every boot up. Is there a way to not have to enter this password every time?

i tried:

# echo "password" > /path/file
#echo "opt /dev/dm-2 /path/file" > /etc/crypttab

but that didn't work.

do i need to edit my fstab?

screenshot of the prompt is attached.

Hi,

You definitively need to edit /etc/fstab.
Something like echo "/dev/mapper/opt /opt the_used_file_system_type defaults 1 1" >> /etc/fstab should work.
Then try mount -a in order to test.
