How can change user profile directory

Hai all,
I created user and given the path -d /opt/....
After creating the user i want to change the user directory path iam given this command
usermod -g -d /home/......

command is successfully excuting
but after logging the user giving some error...

Have you used -m option while using useradd command?

No i dont't know that command pls tell me how to use.....

I want to change the directory of exicting user..

Iam not changing the ownership of that directory....
