Help needed onPortsentry

Hi. I have a doubt Portsentry. My machine is being allowed to be scanned by a (remote system) for vulnerabilities. But as they are scanned the ip's are being blocked. So I decided to use Portsentry. Portsentry wa sinstalled but the ip entries weren't enterd to ignore or so. After the machine was scanned entries came into the file "portsentry.blocked" saying the ip was blocked. In order not to block it, I made an entry into "/usr/local/psionic/portsentry/portsentry.ignore" and removed the specific entry in the file
"/usr/local/psionic/portsentry/portsentry.history" & "/usr/local/psionic/portsentry/portsentry.blocked.tcp"

The thing is that whether I should restart portsentry or what and if so where would the startup script be present? Could anyone give the whole path. I did check it out in /etc/rc.d/init.d but was in vain. Thanks in advance.

Please drop Portsentry as it is a totally inadequate solution. If you want to know why, search this Security forum for my old posts on Portsentry. Instead use Snort and for blocking some app like Guardian which will use your host firewall to block IP's.
If Portsentry doesn't come with an initscript, just copy one over and change the appropriate values. Should be 2 minutes work.
