the reason being i have taken this up to do as my group project at university, (and yes it will be FREE!!!!!!!! apart from the fact that u must say " allhail the Snake!!!" hehehehe)
but seriously if ther are some around i wouldlike to see how they have approached this task, and howi couldimprove it etc..also if possible i would also like links to properitry web based interfaces, as it owuld be cool to see the main difference and see if i could incorporate any of these.
all help would be apreciated !!!

I've got quite a few frontends for iptables listed on my website. Just search the Software Directory for Network Firewalls. Firestarter, Shorewall and Firewall Builder seem to be pretty popular.
well both actually, im gona try ro make one for my university project, but i want to see how others have tackeld it, so i canmakemine better etc... but just to get an idea.
wellwebmin is a bit too advanced forwhat im trying to get at,but yes i could carry on the project tomake a new version of webmin with better interface ?
butmy main aims are to provide anyone toconfigure a firewall, al they have to do is use the web interface
webmin is TOO complicated?? wow... always seems too basic and simple for most people... and this is for a uni project? Maybe you spend too much time drinking
welli have only 10 weeks to get somethinglike webmi working, also, i have to know how to configure most of the services, ok i know how to setup samba, nfs, mail, apahe, dns shouldnt be too hard, but u see all that and gettingafirewall configured ?
andwrite a 10,000 word report ! explaining everything, andthis does not include help manual by the way !!!
(i dont drink :P) but yes i would probably carryon th to make somehing like webmin, but rememebr if iwas getting help from people who know it would be my project : ) and uni would down grade u for that
