Unhappy firewall.rc.config says :"open port 8080" but nmap says port is closed

hello!
i have tried to use firewall.rc.config to close some ports and open other but as i configured in firewall.rc.config:

FW_Services_internal_tcp="8080"

nmap says the port is closed!

why is that?

type netsat -natp.

does it say port 8080 has a server open on it.

otherwise you have just opened firewall path to the port but as you don't have a service on the end of it nothing will respond so nmap will tell you it's a closed port.
