firewall issues


i have a dual boot system (fedora core 3 and windowsxp) with cabel internet connection. on windows i can browse every website but in linux i cant open some websites e.g.(news.google.com, orkut.com) it gives me Cant Find Server Error. Where can be the issue? Any solution is very much appreciated.

have you set something for nameserver ? is it something in /etc/resolv.conf file ?

you can try a ping to those hosts...

i do have nameserver defined properly when i gave fixed ip to my NIC card. besides apart from these few website i have quoated rest are working well. i doner what can eb problem. my guess was iptalabled but i have no clues on how tou fix it. Regards

i figured it out. just with trial and error though. in security-level i turned eth0 as trusted device and all is working nicely. i wonder what that has changed so that turning it off blocks some web sites. do anyone have a clue?
