disk encryption


can som eone please guide me for disk encryptionin kernel 2.6.14.3

The new mechanism for encrypting disks uses the DeviceMapper , while the older used the cryptoloop. There are some advantages of using dm-crypt and cryptloop has security flaws.

IMHO the best solution for disk encryption is dm-crypt with luks
http://luks.endorphin.org/dm-crypt

See there the advantages over other methods

ty guys will get back more...this disk encryption is sitting over me for more than a week now..

but i have to go a step ahead and encrypt the root partitionand burn this as an iso image
