I am trying to get Samba running properly on Debian I can access the Linux share as the person that I joined the domain with and can do wbinfo -u, -t, -g and get the proper information the trouble comes when I try and set rights on the folders from ADS server says access denied I have also noticed that the attributes are set to read only on the folders and you can not take them away anyone help with this problem

Pperry,

See the 'map readonly' in newer versions of Samba. Remember that only the root or the owner of a file can change permissions unless you set the 'acl group control' option.

Note: "acl group control' is being depreciated in favor of 'dos filemode'

This is on a box called a yellow machine it is supposed to come out of the box ready to use all you have to do is join the ADS Domain I have successfully joined the domain but do not know much about Linux
Could you be a little more specific the only thing I am seeing that says readonly is marked as no
