Change source ip on static internet

Hi,

Environment:
Linux: Ubuntu 12.04

I am connected to internet using static ip. This means my internet provider Pacenet has assigned me static ip. Now, whenever I am trying to change source ip for tcp/ip (ip4) using iptables firewall, I am unable to access internet at all.

Can anybody help me in this?
Question: Is this possible to change source IP, when I am accessing internet through static ip?
Question: if yes for question. Can you please let me know the process?

If you've got a static one, there's two explanations: you're a big bizz and you paid for this...cool for you.

What I suggest is to put your box one layer deeper into the LAN, that way, you change your INTERNAL IP address and not the one your provider gave you...
...that's how I do things like that...but, that's just me. That way, though, the BOXES are protected, not so much the LAN...be aware of that...

And, of course: welcome here. You've started of with an interesting question too. Thanks for that! Hope to read more from you!!

Thor
