Ccrypt

For those who need to encrypt some files in a secure manner with a password, I personaly use the open source CCRYPT http://ccrypt.sourceforge.net/

The reason I use it is simple. It is multi-platform in every way, so I can encrypt my files safely knowing I'll be able to decrypt them anywhere else (Windows, BeOS, any UNIX, etc..)

I use it to secure my password file list (Openoffice spreadsheet in excel format .xls)

It is a command line utility, easy to use with a very secure algorithm.

Anyway i was looking to integrate it into KDE and I fell onto this little gem while surfing. It'a a bunch of simple scripts used to integrate ccrypt on different paltforms file managers.

KDE is included and all I need to do now after running the script to encrypt or decrypt a file now is right click it and pick the proper menu item.

Just thought I would share this.

Thumbs up

That's excelent, just what I have been looking for. I have been using Dscrypt(Windows program) through wine, as I used to use it in Windows, and although it worked through wine, it wasn't %100, but it did its job. This is much better, love the right click context menu
Thanks for sharing.
