that book is ten years old, it is not up to date at all, and we are not going to tell you how to illegally obtain it.

I cordially suggest that you look at Shoreline Firewall, a.k.a. "Shorewall."

This is, very simply, a tool that generates and installs IPTables rules for you ... and it does a very good job of it. You specify what you want, and the (free, open-source ...) tool generates the necessary rules for you and activates them.

To me, it's a perfect example of "Do What I Want." Do you really want to plumb the depths of IPTables rules? No ... you want to install a firewall! "Do not do a thing already done."
