What distro are you running? Are you booting to a GUI or text? Can we read minds?

go to the /etc/sysconfig/autologin and change it to no.
AUTOLOGIN=no
EXEC=/usr/bin/startx.autologin

Passwordless Login

I don't know what distro do you use!
but if you are on SUSE.... do following:

1) "sudo yast2" (in GUI).
or
1) "sudo yast" (in CLI).

2) enter SU(Root) Password.
3) you'll enter into YasT2.
4) Select "Security & Users".
5) Select "User Management".
6) Choice that User for Configuration.
7) Press "Expert Options";
8) Choose "Login Setting";
9) Uncheck "Passwordless Logins";
10) Press "OK".
11) Press "Finish"

good Luck
