I hope I win. I am pushing Linux and Opensource real hard. By 2012 I hope MS has only 65 percent home user installed base

Newer than new

My first post.

I bought an Acer Aspire one last year for traveling purposes and chose Linux on it.

I can get by with very basic stuff, but I want to do more and use it for Ham radio programming software and GPS things.

I've got lots to learn it looks like.

Thumbs up

As a relative newbie to Linux - and surprising myself how I am managing! - this sounds a great gift as I know I need help up the learning curve even if it isn't as steep as I thought it would be!

Seasons Greetings and good wishes to one and all!

Celia

I started with Fedora 8, then 9, 10 and now use Ubuntu. Linux has certainly come a long way since the days of the first slackware!
