Narcissu is a free visual novel for PC by doujin group stage-nana. The game tells the story of a young man and woman, both of whom are terminally ill, and meet at a hospital. Neither one wants to die at the hospital or with their families, so the two decide to drive away together, making their way across Japan.
A few years ago, Narcissu was translated into English by a fan-translation group named insani, complete with the consent of the game’s writer, Tomo Kataoka. Now, members of insani, as part of a new group called “Sekai Project,” have managed to get both Narcissu and its sequel onto Steam via the Steam Greenlight program.
Narcissu will be retranslated from scratch as the original translation is eight years old by this point and Sekai Project feel it could use improving, having worked on the original themselves. Narcissu: Side 2nd, too, will be retranslated. The new translations for both games will involve the participation of stage-nana.
Narcissu and Narcissu: Side 2nd will both be released for free via Steam. Sekai Project have stated they hope to bring more games onto Steam in the future as well.
Yes, the Greenlight page shows "Linux" among the platforms.
