Man accidentally deletes his entire company' with one line of bad code

Yes, it's just summarizing a ServerFault thread, but the fact that it made The Independent isn't meaningingless:

Man accidentally deletes his entire company' with one line of bad code

I'm sure everyone here can guess what that "one line of bad code" was?

Which makes you wonder the level of investigation (if any) the "quality" press takes when it comes to IT matters.

I notice the item is still prominently displayed on the "tech" page

Nope. The quoted article was taken from the Independent which is a newspaper. To the best of my knowledge it reports news quite well. Similarly old newspaper sections - business, finance, sport, arts, travel and probably plenty more. However with technical issues it is so easy to just take feeds from a number of providers and not review items before they go to press.
