Firstly I want to say congratulations to Benanzo. I am very, very jealous. I hope that you have a tremendously engaging experience there. I know that I would just be a buzz!
Thank you to Jeremy for the opportunity. I will email you about my pick and thanks again for that!

Why attend Ubuntu Conference
Why not attend? I preach Ubu ntu, I preach Linux where Iwork. There is a complete lack of appreciation by my colleagues, not because they don't want, but because they don't know enough. Let me attend the conference and they will knowhow important Ubuntu is!

Ubuntu saved my cojones!
I am a contractor working for SRC (Scientific Research Corporation), in Charleston, SC. Recently, my laptop power adapter failed just prior to my travel to Bahrain in the Middle East. While packing for the trip, I grabbed my old laptop to bring with me (it had a crashed hard drive, but at least I had a power adapter for it). I happened to have an Ubuntu live CD in my CD case. I booted up my laptop with Ubuntu, and then downloaded the full OS. I was able to communicate with my company via email, generate spreadsheets, chart financial expenditures, access my banking information and complete detailed work summaries with no problems. Ubuntu rocks, and saved my butt!

If there's a Slackware Conference anywhere in America, can I have a free pass and free 'plane ticket please? Thanks in advance.
P.S.
And free luxury hotel accommodation too. For a month...or two??

Re. my previous post.
No, apparently not. Still, nevermind. Worth trying.
